Sia Conseil - Management and Operational Strategy Consulting

By my background and my natural curiosity, I express a strong interest in the Energy sector and its management. I graduated as electromechanical engineer from The Free University of Brussels. I took some complementary classes in management at Solvay Business School and specialized in Energy at The Faculty of Applied Sciences. I then decided to prolong my university life with a part-time mba in Boston, US.

I decided to join Sia Conseil mainly for two reasons. First, a small structure can offer incredible amount of opportunities and gives you unexpected responsibilities. Since the very beginning, the job gives you direct contact with client. The second reason is the people working at Sia Conseil. They are passionate and have the 110% attitude: working harder, getting more satisfaction, enjoying free time much more.

I am just starting my second – of many – year at Sia Conseil and I already worked on three exciting missions for two clients. In collaboration with charismatic managers, I developed many “sleeping” skills (including leadership, management and structure) and most of all I acquired a strong experience in business procedures, internal policy, company strategy…

And, actually, this great feeling of continuous learning doesn’t seem to have a limit…

My advices for joining Sia Conseil are pretty simple:

- Be yourself! If you are passionate by a sector or have inspiring experiences, our consultants will certainly recognize it.

- Show a great amount of motivation! Make it feel through the way you have managed any kind of project during your life experience.

Growing personally as well as professionally, I graduated from the Institute of Administration and Management at Louvain-La-Neuve with a degree in Engineering in Sciences of Management. I got to know Sia Conseil by meeting one of its consultants during a training course in a company being a client of Sia Conseil. Thereafter I decided to join Sia Conseil Belgium as an “Energy Consultant” in September 2006.

Since its creation in 1999 in France, Sia Conseil is a growing company having many objectives internally, one of them being its geographical expansion, e.g. in Belgium since 2006. People at Sia Conseil have in common their energy and enthusiasm to reach those kinds of goals, which creates a very stimulating working environment that enables to grow personally as well as professionally.

Next to this, working as a Consultant is very challenging. On the one hand, it’s about working on content related topics alongside colleagues who share the dedication and qualifications needed to produce lasting results for clients. You rapidly gain deep functional expertise in specific domains which offers a steep learning curve. On the other hand, there is a need to take the lead over the teams you’re working in. You can get a lot of responsibility within a short period of time and the chance to work with a lot of different people and cultures. You quickly learn how different companies operate their business and deal with change.

One of my first projects as an “Energy Consultant” was the industrialization of the IT system of a gas company. During this project I was able to assume a variety of roles, ranging from supporting the operational manager functionally, human performance management activities among which change management, and also system testing.

For sure, working as part of a team and being in such close contact with clients has been a great experience so far. It's especially inspiring to work!
